Introduction
This Privacy Policy sets out the principles which FORGE Marketing, Inc. ("FORGE") observes regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personally identifiable information. FORGE is dedicated to maintaining high standards of confidentiality with respect to the information that has been provided to us. FORGE collects only such information from individuals as is required for the purposes of providing our services to them and / or marketing to them. This information is only collected when explicit or implied consent is voluntarily given, as is required under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). We do not sell or rent any email database or profile information obtained.
Our understanding and compliance with PIPEDA and PIPA
FORGE Marketing is in compliance with the Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and Provincial Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Under these acts, personal information is defined as: "Information about an identifiable individual, but does not include the name, title or business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization."
Customers will be provided with an explicit reason for collecting their personal information. Only information that is relevant to the identified purpose will be collected. Accurate records of customer sign-ups will be maintained and individuals will have access to their records upon request. Personal information will only be used for its stated purpose and additional consent will be requested if that purpose changes. Personal information will only be retained as long as necessary for the fulfillment of these purposes, after which time the information records will be destroyed. Collection of information will not be a condition of an offer.
No spam, no exceptions
FORGE Marketing practices permission based email marketing and will only deliver or coordinate the delivery of information to parties who have given their consent to receive the information ("opted-in"). There are no exceptions.
Information is stored in a secure environment
FORGE Marketing is committed to protecting your privacy. FORGE has sophisticated security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information that has been disclosed to us and is under our control. FORGE has made a substantial investment in the latest server, database, backup, and firewall technologies to protect the information collected. Furthermore, the email deployment software FORGE utilizes supports SSL encryption all the way up to 3DES (168 bits), which is much higher than what is necessary to secure information adequately on the web.*
Client Databases
All email addresses and profile information supplied and acquired by the client to the FORGE Marketing database remain the sole property of the client. FORGE will not use or share this information in any way, unless required to do so by law.
Information that has been collected by the client, and of which is in the possession of FORGE, will only be used for the purpose stated at the time of collection. The client will provide a clearly worded sign-up form or opt-in page to confirm consent and will provide a link on the sign-up form or opt-in page to the clientÌs company privacy policy.
In the event that individuals subscribe to client email communications that they no longer wish to receive, they may unsubscribe electronically by clicking the appropriate link within the email communication at any time.
Email Subscribers
FORGE Marketing does collect email addresses and profile information when users subscribe to receive email notifications offered by FORGE. FORGE uses information collected through such subscriptions to send users the communications they have requested only; in most cases, the FORGE Marketing quarterly eLetter. Personal information will not be disclosed outside of carefully screened individuals working for FORGE and this information will not be used for any other purpose, unless a new purpose is identified and additional consent is granted.
Upon time of collection and permission, a clearly worded sign-up form or opt-in page will be provided to confirm consent. A link to the FORGE Marketing privacy policy will be provided on the sign-up form or opt-in page.
In the event that individuals subscribe to an email notification that they no longer wish to receive, they may unsubscribe electronically by clicking the appropriate link within the email communication at any time.
If subscribers wish to access the personal information FORGE has stored on them, we endeavor to respond to this request within 30 days. There are a few cases where this may not be possible however, such as when the information is required to be held by law, where the information impedes an ongoing investigation, or where the information being disclosed might disclose othersÌ personal information.
List Management
As a list manager, we must confirm that all lists owners have obtained from all customers on their list their consent to the collection of their personal information and its disclosure to outside parties for marketing and/or communication purposes and has ensured that name removal options are available to consumers prior to the consumersÌ names being released for marketing purposes.
